An “Accidental” Trip in Melaka #3

Eat like a king in Melaka!!! There are so much of good food there… Here are some to share…

Durian cendol and Durian EPC… at one of the restaurant in Jonker Street… (forgot the name)

Nyonya delights @ Donald & Lily Corner… It’s like a “house-cum-restaurant” concept…

Siam Fried beehoon + tauhu rojak…

Sago Cendol…
Grab some pineapple tarts and other local snacks as souvenirs here…
Our favourite cendol ‘stall’ here… Bibik House Cendol… You can also get  local delights in this shop…
BUT our favourite is still their durian cendol…
Wah! Drooling…
Close-up shot of our affections… smells good too!
The best-est friend ever – Chee Seng…

Dining at Basil, Bangsar Village

pano_basil
It was Friday and as usual, the road was jam all the way after fetching Mein from Universiti LRT Station. So, I used another road to go home. But still, traffic was static. So, we decided to go out for dinner first and go home thereafter to avoid the traffic. Went to Bangsar Village (1 & 2)… Nothing much there. Quite hard to find food with decent price. Even went out to Jalan Telawi but couldn’t get anything desirable. Went in back to Bangsar Village and saw Basil. There’s a bunting staying some promotions and discounts for CIMB card users. Since Mein is one, so, we went in to give it a try.

We order a tomyam seafood for 2 pax with 2 plates of rice, a bowl of water chestnut dessert and a glass of warm water. I liked the tomyam pretty much. But Mein & I felt that its not enough milky (tak cukup lemak). The dessert was OK. I liked the one from Little Penang more.

The atmosphere there was soothing and comfortable. Everywhere was decorated with colourful fresh flowers. The price was reasonable too.

I rate Basil :

Launching of BestFoodJunction.com

Mein and I attended the launching of BFJ.com. After driving to Royale Bintang Hotel in Damansara, The Curve on 25 June 2009, we head to the Tiara Rini Ballroom to register. After that, we were given a goodies bag each. Basically, BFJ.com is a website where you can find all about food and restaurants, mostly around Klang Valley and Selangor. There were already a large group of crowd, wandering around, eating and munching away… Haha! Food sampling mah… What more? Mein and I started our ‘adventure’ as well, hunting for some good food to eat. Though not served in big portion, there number of types of food is enough to fill us up!

There were a few stalls opened in the launching ceremony, giving out free food samplings and one on coffee demonstration. Spaghetti, Yaki-yaki charcoal BBQ sticks, cakes and pastries from Zen, New Zealand Natural’s ice cream and etc… There’s also music performance by a band… Digging into our goodies bag, the thing I liked the most are the magazines and also a wristband watch. But mine is spoilt at the button. *sad* :"(
