Malai Thai Cuisine Awarded Thai SELECT, A Symbol of Authentic Thai Cuisine by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion

What is Thai SELECT?
Thai SELECT is a certification awarded by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce. It certifies the food, hospitality and atmosphere of restaurants, ensuring the preparation of an authentic Thai experience.

Whenever you travel, finding the Thai SELECT stamp of approval assures you that delicious Thai cuisine is
served in a pleasant environment and charming hospitality – the full journey into the Thai culture.

There are strict guidelines to be followed to be recognized by Thai SELECT, and there are four categories of certification: Signature, Classic, Casual and Unique. Thai SELECT Signature is granted to restaurants that serve authentic Thai food with a taste of premium quality, refined decoration and excellent service, while Thai SELECT Classic is awarded to Thai Restaurants of excellent quality.

The symbol is given to restaurants in four categories, assessed by type of restaurant, decoration, and level of food and service excellence.

Restaurants with Thai SELECT Casual offer good quality Thai food, but have limited services, while Thai
SELECT Unique restaurants are for selected restaurants within Thailand that offer local specialties. There is
also Thai SELECT Products, which are Thai food products made the traditional way.

Award Ceremony & Luncheon
An award ceremony was held in Malai Thai Cuisine, located along Jalan Perak, Kuala Lumpur on 14 July 2022. This restaurant is awarded Thai SELECT by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion. Nestled a stone’s throw from KLCC on the ground floor of Cormar Suites, Malai Thai has already become a firm favourite amongst many of the locals, expat residents and businesses.

I was introduced to a few authentic Thai dishes during the luncheon hosted by Malai Thai Cuisine. The delicious dishes are Green Curry Chicken, Fried Fish with Mango Salad, Tom Yum River Prawns, Shrimps with Minced Chicken, Deep Fried Shrimp Balls and Green Mango Salad. The experience was definitely pleasurable, enjoying authentic Thai dishes with the cozy ambience in the restaurant.

Star Fitness International Yoga Day 2022

On 25 June 2022, Star Fitness gym and fitness center has organized a yoga session “Star Fitness International Yoga Day 2022” at Centro Mall Klang. This yoga session was conducted by famous local celebrity, Atilia Haron.

In conjunction with World Yoga Day 2022 on 21 June 2022, the Star Fitness International Yoga Day 2022 aims to promote yoga as one of the exercises that include mental and physical health. “There are various styles in yoga which are able to educate the soul to be in a positive state while making yourself and your body healthier,” said Mr. Syed Shaddad, Managing Director of Star Fitness.

The word yoga comes from the ancient Sanskrit “Yuj” which means to unite, connect or combine. It is a type of exercise based on three elements namely movement, breathing and meditation. As a fitness enthusiast and a yoga lover myself, I agree that by practicing yoga consistently, it helps to cope with stress, losing weight, increase strength, stability and flexibility including promote better quality sleep.

The two-hour yoga session which started at 8.00 am to 10.00 am was divided into two parts, namely Session 1 with Atilia Haron and Session 2 with Harrison Jub. Each session lasted for an hour and was attended by nearly 80 people comprising Star Fitness club members and the general public. Apart from that, the event was also attended by Malaysia’s popular celebrities and influencers such as Raden Zaharatul, Saidah Kamarudin, influencer Chan Khye, and finalists of Mr. World Malaysia 2022, El-Umar, Jack Kho, Parvin, Zaim and Raja Irshad.

Founded in March 2020, Star Fitness is confident that the organization of such health programs will be able to continue in the future and Star Fitness will continue to strive to provide the highest quality, best and most enjoyable fitness experience. Apart from having 4 clubs operating in locations such as Aeon Big Subang Jaya, Aeon Big Wangsa Maju, Viva Shopping Mall and Centro Mall Klang, the public, especially Penangites can expect several clubs to open soon in Aeon Big Seberang Jaya, Prai Penang and Aeon Big Bukit Minyak Penang.
