My Experience at Huawei’s Latest Innovative Product Launch: Fitness, Adventure, and Creativity Redefined

Today, I had the pleasure of attending the much-anticipated Huawei Innovative Product Launch in Kuala Lumpur, and I am excited to share all the thrilling details with you! Huawei continues to raise the bar for tech enthusiasts and creatives alike with their latest wearable and tablet releases—designed not only to inspire but also to deliver superior performance across various lifestyles.

Huawei WATCH GT 5 Series: Fitness Meets Elegance
One of the major highlights of the event was the unveiling of the Huawei WATCH GT 5 Series. These stylish, high-performance smartwatches come in two editions—the WATCH GT 5 and the WATCH GT 5 Pro—offering something for every type of user.

What stood out most for me was the refined design—aerospace-grade titanium alloy and nanocrystal ceramic make these watches durable and light on the wrist. For those of you who, like me, are looking for more than just an accessory, this is where these smartwatches excel. They come equipped with Huawei TruSense technology, allowing for comprehensive health monitoring, such as heart rate, SpO2, and sleep tracking. I also found the menstrual cycle tracking feature to be a thoughtful addition for female users.

But the most impressive feature, especially for the fitness fanatics out there, is the HUAWEI Sunflower Positioning System, which offers unmatched precision for trail running and hiking. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a casual jogger, you’ll appreciate the 40% boost in route accuracy and real-time navigation—even in challenging terrains!

The Pro edition also includes a golf course mode and topographic maps for trail running, making it the perfect companion for both fitness and adventure enthusiasts. With prices starting from RM1,099, this series is a steal for anyone who values fitness and style.

Huawei WATCH Ultimate: Adventure Meets Elegance
For those looking for something more rugged, Huawei also introduced the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate (Green Edition), which marries cutting-edge design with exceptional adventure-focused features. Its green bezel, created using nano-tech ceramic, symbolizes the spirit of exploration.

Golfers will particularly love this smartwatch as it offers precise data on wind speed, green slope compensation, and access to over 180 golf course maps. It’s also 100-meter water-resistant, so it’s ready to accompany you from the course to deep-water adventures. Starting at RM3,799, this watch balances adventure, elegance, and functionality perfectly.

Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2: Creativity Unleashed
On the creative side, I was amazed by the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2, the ultimate tablet for professionals and artists. The 12.2-inch Tandem OLED PaperMatte display offers stunning visuals with vibrant colors and an anti-glare design, perfect for long hours of work or play. Whether you’re sketching, designing, or video editing, this display is a game-changer.

Huawei has even integrated Local Batik Drawing Tools in collaboration with ASWARA, offering digital batik tools that bring Malaysian culture to life in the GoPaint App. As someone who loves exploring new creative outlets, this was a unique and exciting feature.

Starting from RM4,599, the MatePad Pro 12.2 is ideal for artists, designers, and professionals who want power and creativity in one sleek package.

My Verdict
Overall, this launch event highlighted Huawei’s commitment to innovation, whether it’s enhancing our fitness routines, pushing the boundaries of adventure, or unlocking our creative potential. If you’re in the market for a new smartwatch or tablet that seamlessly blends technology, design, and functionality, Huawei’s latest lineup should be at the top of your list.

After my recent stay at Solaire Resort Entertainment City, I’m still captivated by the unparalleled luxury and service this world-class resort offers. Nestled in Manila’s Entertainment City, Solaire has rightfully earned its place as a top-tier destination, receiving the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Excellence Award for the 8th consecutive year. This award highlights Solaire’s commitment to delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences, setting the standard for luxury resorts not just in the Philippines, but globally.

A Luxurious Stay at The Sky Tower
During my stay at the Sky Studio in The Sky Tower, I experienced the true essence of luxury. The suite I stayed in offered breathtaking panoramic views of the world-renowned Manila Bay and was designed with elegance and comfort in mind. Spacious and filled with natural light, the room was adorned with unique Filipino artwork, blending local culture with modern sophistication. The personal butler service provided a personalized touch, ensuring my every need was catered to, making my stay even more memorable. Their housekeeping service was exceptionally good!

World-Class Dining at Solaire
Solaire is also a culinary haven, boasting 19 dining options that cater to every palate. Whether you’re craving authentic Chinese cuisine at Red Lantern, indulging in the finest Japanese dishes at Yakumi, or enjoying Western cuisines at Waterside, every meal at Solaire is a gourmet experience. One of the highlights of my trip was dining at Finestra, where the blend of exquisite flavours and live music made for an unforgettable evening.

A special mention goes to Solaire’s breakfast offerings at Fresh, which feature a wide variety of international cuisines. The breakfast buffet was a true delight, with fresh options from all around the world, including Western, Asian, and Filipino favorites. It was the perfect way to start the day—whether you’re in the mood for a healthy start with fresh fruits and salads or something more indulgent like freshly baked pastries or local delicacies. Each morning felt like a culinary journey, setting the tone for the day ahead.

There’s also the Baccarat Room and Bar which offers an exclusive, intimate gaming experience for guests who enjoy a luxurious setting. It’s a place for you to indulge in the world’s finest cigars and drinks while playing in a refined atmosphere. Conveniently located at Level 1 near the Bay Tower entrance.

ChiMac Festival: A Celebration of Korean Culture
I was fortunate to attend Manila’s biggest ChiMac Festival during my stay, an event that perfectly blended Korean culture, food, and entertainment. Held at the Grand Ballroom, the festival featured mouthwatering Korean dishes like Tteokbokki, Buchimgae, and the ever-popular Korean fried chicken, paired with refreshing Korean beer. The atmosphere was vibrant, with live performances from DJ Kara and The Itchyworms, making it a night filled with fun and excitement. One of the highlights was trying on traditional Hanbok attire and getting a taste of authentic Korean culture right in the heart of Solaire.

A Tranquil Escape with A Spa Experience at Solaire Resort
The spa experience at Solaire Resort was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I entered the serene space, I was enveloped in a tranquil ambiance designed to soothe the mind and body. The luxurious treatments, tailored to individual preferences, were expertly administered by highly skilled therapists. I opted for a 60-minute combination massage, which was both relaxing and rejuvenating, using premium oils and techniques that melted away any tension. Despite the steam room and sauna being unavailable, the jacuzzi and other spa amenities provided the perfect complement to the treatment, leaving me feeling completely refreshed and revitalized.

Discover Malaysia’s Muslim-Friendly Tourism: My Experience at Islamic Tourism Month 2024 Familiarization Trip

On 3 September 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Islamic Tourism Month (ITM) 2024 Familiarization Trip, organized by the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) under Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC). This event was a deep dive into Malaysia’s rich Muslim-Friendly Tourism offerings, showcasing why the country is a top destination for Islamic tourism.

Kampung Baru: A Step Back in Time to Start the Day
Our day began at the Raja Uda MRT Station in Kuala Lumpur, where the ITC team welcomed local and international Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and media representatives. We enjoyed a traditional breakfast at Warung Mak Nenek, located in the historic neighbourhood of Kampung Baru, a living museum of Malay culture, before embarking on the Magical Kampung Baru Tour. This tour offered a glimpse into Malaysia’s heritage, with a vibrant mix of old-world charm and modern city life.

Lunch and Insight at KL Tower with ITC Director-General
Following the Kampung Baru experience, we visited the iconic KL Tower, one of the world’s tallest telecommunications tower in the world, for lunch at Aras Restaurant. The breathtaking views were only matched by the valuable insights shared by ITC Director-General, Encik Nizran Noordin. During the session, he elaborated on the objectives of Islamic Tourism Month 2024 and how it aims to position Malaysia as a premier destination for Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH).

We learned about the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition (MFAR), an exclusive certification awarded to hotels and services that cater to the specific needs of Muslim travelers. This initiative, spearheaded by ITC, reinforces Malaysia’s leadership in providing quality Islamic tourism experiences on a global scale.

A side from lunch at Aras, there were two other interesting activities I think you should be a part of:

Sky Box: The Ultimate Adrenaline Rush
Suspended more than 300 meters above the ground, this glass-floored Sky Box is not for the faint of heart. As you step inside, the transparent floor gives you a clear view of the dizzying heights below, offering an adrenaline-pumping experience that you won’t soon forget.

The view from the Sky Box is breathtaking, offering a 360-degree panorama of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline. Whether it’s the majestic Petronas Twin Towers, the bustling city streets, or the lush greenery of Bukit Nanas, the sights are awe-inspiring. But the real thrill comes from the sensation of being suspended high above the ground, feeling like you’re floating in mid-air. For adrenaline junkies and Instagram enthusiasts alike, the Sky Box is a must-do at KL Tower.

Tower Walk 100: A Scenic Stroll Above the City
For those looking for another heart-pounding adventure, the Tower Walk 100 is an incredible experience. This outdoor skywalk takes you around the circumference of KL Tower, giving you an unobstructed view of the city from 100 meters above the ground. It’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the grandeur of Kuala Lumpur while enjoying a scenic stroll that’s unlike anything else.

Walking along the edge of the tower, with only a safety harness keeping you secure, is both thrilling and surreal. The Tower Walk 100 lets you appreciate the architectural marvel of KL Tower and its surrounding urban jungle from a completely unique perspective. It’s not just about the views but also the experience of walking at such heights, with the wind in your face and the city sprawling beneath your feet.

Shah Alam: Islamic Arts and Cultural Immersion
The afternoon took us to Shah Alam, where we explored the Selangor International Islamic Arts Complex. This cultural hub was an artistic feast for the eyes, with intricate Islamic art pieces that reflect the beauty and depth of Malaysia’s Islamic heritage. The visit enriched our understanding of how art plays a key role in preserving and promoting Islamic culture in Malaysia. I got the chance to learn how to write khat calligraphy in the workshop organised for us.

Our next stop was the Mardhiyyah Hotel & Suites, a shining example of MFAR-certified hospitality. We were greeted with refreshments and taken on a tour of the hotel, which is designed to cater specifically to Muslim guests, offering halal dining, prayer facilities, and more.

Halal Culinary Delights: A Fusion at Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant
To end the day, we indulged in a one-of-a-kind dinner at the Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant. The restaurant offers a unique fusion of Chinese flavors, all prepared in compliance with halal guidelines. The evening’s highlight was a cooking demonstration, where chefs showed us how they integrate halal principles into traditional Chinese dishes, offering an exciting blend of taste and culture.

Islamic Tourism Month 2024: Your Gateway to Muslim-Friendly Malaysia
The familiarization trip offered a firsthand look at the exciting offerings of Islamic Tourism Month 2024.
