Chili Espresso – A Great Experience!

We have got our time finally wanted to try the food in Isthmus. We have a few vouchers which we wanted to use since a long time but only until now we’ve got the chance to use it. It’s a RM50 discount voucher dining at Isthmus.

When we reached there, the polite waiter told us that they are closed only for private functions. But their coffee house called Chili Espresso is opened. So, we sat down and had a look at their menu. We checked with the waiter if we can use the voucher there. He checked with his superior and an assistant manager, Ms Michelle came to us and greeted us. She told us that we can use the voucher there nicely and I am very happy with their professionalism and fair treatment to all their guests.

Basically, they serve fushion food. Well, we were very much into western yesterday, so we ordered pasta and a chicken dish.

Mein ordered Pan tossed Pasta in Homemade Italian Tomato Sauce while I wanted Pan-seared Spiced Honey Chicken. As for drinks, Mein had a glass of Orange and Mango while I had their Fresh Banana, Yoghurt and Honey Smoothies.

Waited patiently at our table, we chatted and the waiter too came and had some short conversation with us. And he actually knew when to stop. That’s so great about him/them.

After around 15 minutes, another waiter came and told me that the chicken they had were not fresh and suggested to order another dish. Well, without further delay, I ordered a fish dish instead – Pan-seared Organic Farmed Barramundi.

Later, Mein’s pasta came. We tried and tasted the pasta. Incredible! The taste was very much near to perfection. We loved it. The only thing lacking was that they missed out the seafood which we wanted to add-on. But it’s ok. Just treat is a a way to cut down calories and cholesterol! Huh!!!

While waiting for my Barramundi to ready, a surprised complimentary bread was served to me. Very impressive. Not only they apologized for not having the chicken for me, they actually compliment their guests for waiting for the next dish. Two thumbs up!

Not long later, the fish swam to the table and I am glad that I can have a plate of protein-ful fish served right in front of me with healthy vegetables and sauce.

Oh, the drinks were great too! Naturally fresh and tasty!

Welcome to this beautiful world, baby Mia! I know you’ll do great in the future. Congratulations to Scott & Talei!

Looking at baby Mia reminds me of her parents and eventually brought me to think about my parents and all other parents in the world. I feel that parents are great people. Besides giving their children the best of what they have, they can always come up with lots of “the bests” for their children. For instance, they will always try to feed them with the best food, look for the best school in town, buy them the best looking clothes, find them the best environment to live in etc etc…

They are really courageous people. They are the only 2 person who will never remember what you’ve done wrong and will never forget what you’ve done them proud.

So, love your parents like how you love yourselves.

Running “Amok” around Bukit Tunku

Wow! It seemed like forever running the Mizuno Wave Run 2008 around Bukit Tunku. The fact that there are slopes and hills from the start to the end put the run to another level of toughness. I like the cool surroundings there especially in the morning.

I took this run as another challenge for me as I wanted to finish it within an hour (compared to last run’s 65 mins). The best thing in this run is that they loan a timing chip to participants so that the actually time used for running can be recorded. And they will print it out together in the certificate. Therefore, our certs are not ready for collection yet.

Coming back to the run, it was for sure tougher than last week’s because of the hill-y area. I am not sure how much time I took to complete the race. My wife told me it was over 60 mins but I don’t take that as an official record. I am looking forward for the timing in the cert which they are going to send to us soon.

Anyhow, I managed to get a M-E-D-A-L!!! It’s limited to the first 500 runners of Category A (Men’s Open). And the best thing was, guess what? I got 497 placing in the whole race which includes all other 5 categories!!! Impressive eh? Ya, I know! 🙂 I’m surprised too. I really need to train harder to achieve better placing in future runs (If I am still in the business then).

There were a huge number of participants – 3100 participants in total. Can you imagine the huge turnout? BTW, I met a few friends here… Let’s keep ourselves healthy together! 😛

Conquering Klang in 1 hour

I have accomplished something new today. I have completed the New Balance/Klang Pacers 12km Run 2008 in 1 hour (and 5 mins)!!! Something I am proud of. It’s my second race of such and I managed to get the medal (which is the main target of the whole run). BTW the fastest runner in this run completed in 44 mins and 18 secs – what an impressive figure!

There wasn’t much freebies this round but the experience was extremely worth it! Now when I am old, I can tell my grandchildren that I was a runner when I was young… Haha!

Our next run will be on next week. Continue training!!!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Just reached.

Our Wedding

29 September 2008 – A Very Special Day for Me…

I have been celebrating my birthday on 29 September every year since 1982. But on 29 September 2008, the day marks another special and meaningful event in my life. It’s the day I’ve entered another stage of my life. Mein & I got married on this very special day.

We went to get registered in Putrajaya. Family members from both parties attended the very special event. My best friends, CF, Ip & Feli came to celebrate the joyous day together with us. CF was given the honour to become one of our witnesses to sign on our wedding registration certificate.

After signing, we had a very long photo session, which was very much enjoyable! 🙂 And the pictures we took around Putrajaya were extremely beautiful.

We then went for lunch together in Janbo Restaurant which was a bad choice. But anyway, that didn’t affect our mood. Celebrated my birthday with the cake Popo bought. Actually it was also meant for Ma & Yin’s belated birthday celebration. So it’s something like a 4-in-1 cake.

In the evening, Mein’s family and I went to Sunway Suites Resort to stay over night before they go back Penang. We had a very enjoyable experience there. I would like to specially highlight that my stay there very much made me felt welcomed. Although there was a small problem upon my check-in, but the reception counter staff, Thomas, solved my problem quickly and promptly. Impressive~!
