I just got back from an amazing trip to Phuket, Thailand, and I’m excited to share some of the most interesting places I visited. First up on my list is a truly unique café experience you won’t want to miss — 8/5 Runway Cafe.

This cozy little café is located right next to the runway of Phuket International Airport (HKT), and yes — you can actually see it from the airplane window as you land. It’s that close! For aviation enthusiasts, travel lovers, or anyone looking for a cool new hangout spot, 8/5 Runway Cafe offers something out of the ordinary: the thrill of sipping your drink while planes roar overhead, landing just a stone’s throw away.

The atmosphere is laid-back and intimate, with a small seating area that keeps things peaceful. Despite its size, the café is incredibly popular with photography lovers and plane spotters, many of whom come here to capture the perfect shot of low-flying aircraft. You’ll often see people setting up cameras or just relaxing with their phones pointed toward the sky.

The menu has something for everyone. If you’re into sweets, try their cakes, muffins, croissants, puffs, or even ice cream. For drinks, they serve a variety of coffee, tea, smoothies, and more — perfect for cooling down on a hot Phuket day or perking up before a flight. My friends and I had Dalgona coffee, iced caramel latte, iced Thai milk tea, banana chocolate cake and chocolate lava cake.

There’s ample parking space, making it easy for both locals and tourists to drop by. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the barista speaks English well, so communication is smooth and easy even if you’re not fluent in Thai.

Minimum spend is 80THB per person, paid as an entrance fee at the ground floor counter. This amount can be fully redeemed for food and beverages at the upstairs café. You can also top up if you’d like to order more.

5 safety tips when visiting:
1. Do not climb and always keep clear from Airport Security Fence.
2. No flash camera.
3. No drone or any unmanned aircraft (UAV).
4. No laser.
5. No balloon & sky lantern.

During my last trip to Bangkok, I spent some time exploring Thonglor (Thong Lo), one of the city’s trendiest districts. This area is packed with stylish cafés, creative spaces, and cozy hangouts. If you’re looking for a chill place to relax, work, or simply enjoy good coffee, here are four spots I personally visited and loved.

1. (un)FASHION Cafe

This was one of my favourite stops! (un)FASHION Cafe is a super cozy and family-friendly spot, with plenty of space for kids to play. I noticed a lot of Japanese patrons here, which makes sense since the area is popular among expat families. The best part? It’s connected to a vintage shop selling beautifully crafted leather products. I spent some time browsing before settling down with a cup of coffee, just soaking in the relaxing vibe.

2. Bigknit Cafe
📍 1st Floor, RQMALL Sukhumvit 49, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

This café was such a unique find! If you love knitting or crafts, you’ll definitely enjoy this place. Not only do they serve coffee and snacks, but they also sell yarn and knitting supplies. I saw a few regulars working on their projects while chatting over tea—it felt like a little creative sanctuary in the middle of Bangkok. Even if you’re not into knitting, the warm, homey atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

3. theCOMMONS

I love discovering cool community spaces, and theCOMMONS was exactly that. It’s a semi-industrial co-sharing hub where people come to work, chill, and socialize. The open layout, natural light, and mix of cafés, food kiosks, and artisanal shops made it an ideal place to hang out. I grabbed a coffee and just enjoyed the creative energy—it’s perfect if you need a spot to work remotely or just unwind.

4. Audrey Cafe & Bistro
📍 Soi Thong Lo 11, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

For a more elegant and laidback experience, Audrey Cafe & Bistro was the perfect spot. The European-inspired decor gave it such a charming feel, making it a great place for a relaxed meal. I could see why it’s a favourite for couples—there were plenty of picture-perfect corners, and the ambiance was just lovely. I enjoyed a delicious meal while taking my time to soak in the cozy setting.

I make it a point to pop into a 7-Eleven every time I’m in Bangkok, whether it’s for a quick bite, an iced coffee or simply to explore the latest offerings. As we all know, Thailand is home to some of the most magnificent temples in the world, each offering a unique spiritual experience and showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage. In my last trip, I managed to visit some interesting one which I think you should visit too. If you’re planning a trip to Thailand, these four temples should be in your list.

Kor Hong Hill Temple (Wat Khao Kho Hong)
This temple is nestled in the Hat Yai district of Songkhla. Kor Hong Hill Temple is a serene retreat that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Perched atop a hill, the temple provides a stunning vantage point to admire the cityscape and the lush greenery below. The temple is known for its giant Buddha statue, which stands as a guardian overlooking Hat Yai. Besides the Buddha, there stood the Guanyin statue (Goddess of Mercy) at the lower tier of the hill. The peaceful ambiance of Kor Hong Hill Temple makes it an ideal place for meditation and reflection. Inside, you’ll find a stunning 20-metre reclining Buddha statue made from natural marble, one of the largest and most beautiful in Thailand. The peaceful atmosphere at Wat Pa Phu Kon makes it an ideal place for meditation and spiritual contemplation.

Kam Cha Not Temple
This temple is situated in Udon Thani’s Ban Dung district, and is a mystical temple known for its connection to the Naga serpent legend. The temple is located on an island surrounded by a swamp, believed to be the dwelling place of the Naga. Visitors come here to pay respects and seek blessings, often participating in ceremonies that involve offerings to the Naga spirits. One of the unique offerings people bring is the Naga-shaped Bai Sri which is a traditional Thai banana leaf arrangement. It symbolizes protection and prosperity, and it honours the revered Naga serpent in Thai spirituality. The temple’s unique setting, combined with its spiritual significance, makes it a fascinating place to explore. The surrounding area is lush and peaceful, adding to the temple’s otherworldly charm.
