活在当下

Image

Calling for my Osho Zen Tarot and it Heard Me

I have been searching high and low for this book and deck called “Osho Zen Tarot”. A friend of mine has always been using this and sharing it with me for quite some time. Whenever we feel lost and looking for an answer to some uncertainty in life, we always consult the deck. So far, it has been very sharp and accurate. However, hers is Mandarin version. I need an English version. Therefore, I started to google for it. And finally, another friend told me that it can be found in BookDepository.com at a reasonable price, cheaper than buying it at the store in KL. What more? Click. Click. Pay. Click. Done!

According to the website, it says 7-10 working days for delivery to Malaysia. Waited until the ninth day but my parcel has not arrived. Started to panic. So, I emailed the customer service of the online bookstore. The personnel called, Jackie advised me that they have sent it via Royal Mail which eventually will reach the hand of the local daily postal service in Malaysia, namely Pos Malaysia. And they sent it by free standard shipping which means, they do not have any tracking number. What?!?! Lagi panic.

But Jackie was kind enough to tell me that for any possible loss or missing item, customers can lodge a complaint only after 25 working days. I need to wait again. I checked the mailbox so many times but no sign of it.

Yesterday was the 24th day. Being an Osho book reader, I must do something to recover my parcel. I started to recite in my heart the following : “The Osho Zen Tarot which I ordered will reach me by today at this address XXX (complete address with postcode)”. I repeated the sentence numerous times throughout the day.

And miracles do happen to those who believe in it.

Well, I had to call the day off and I need to leave the office in the evening. I left the office and took the lift down. I walked pass the mailbox and upon reaching the exit door, my inner voice told me to return and check the mailbox. This time, I saw stacks of letters of unknown owners and there was a new stack with a Pos Malaysia “we missed you” note. And on the paper, my name and full address with description of my parcel, asking me to collect my item from the Post Office HQ. It was such a magical moment. The deck heard my calling and I heard its too! I smiled big as I was overwhelmed.

 At last!

Early next morning, headed toward the post office and collected my parcel before work. Holding it in my own hands feels so real and joyous. Something that you have been expecting for such a long time, has finally arrived. I believe that this is a great demonstration of strong willpower and law of attraction. I am too excited to open up the parcel. But I need to wait until I reach home first. Haha! 🙂

The funniest part of why this parcel did not reach me was that it could not fit in into the mailbox. *sweat*  Someone #statingtheobvious

The Day My Shirt “Burst”!

4 April 2014 – I love today! It has been such a wonderful day for me so far. Well, in the morning, I finally got hold of my long awaited Osho Zen Tarot deck and book which I ordered weeks ago. I shall share my experience in my next post.

In the afternoon, a few minutes before lunch, the shirt I was wearing torn, literally “burst”, causing a big hole at the back. It all happened because I was trying to stretch my body after staying in a sedentary position for awhile. I heard a loud ripping sound on the fabric but I just couldn’t see nor feel it within reachable areas of my hands. To comfort myself, I could only say that all the effort in my workout is paying off now. Hahaha!

Image

Coincidentally my shirt was green. Everyone started calling my Incredible Hulk. |||*_*

I quickly (and cautiously) walked to a mirror and there it is! A big hole!!! OMG! How-lah?! Few more minutes to lunch. Think think think. Brilliant idea. I carried my laptop bag on my back as a cover and head to Uniqlo without fear. And what I saw was they are having a “Limited Offer” for long sleeves cotton shirt. Waahahahaha! I can tell it’s MY day today. Tried two designs and bought one of it at RM49.90 only.

Image

Well, I didn’t change into the new shirt straight away. I wore back the torn one with my backpack and walked around the mall to grab my lunch. Lunch done. Back to the office to change.

This is absolutely a memorable experience for me!

I chose this one – small dots on plain white. Nice? 🙂

想法 . 信念

Image

Volunteering in The Burden Run 2014 by MetConX

Mein and I have been running in races, trails and other running events since 2008. But we have not acted as a volunteer before (as those behind-the-scene people).

Us @ #theburdenrun2014

When MetConX announced that they are organising The Burden Run, I checked my schedule and found out that I may not be able to run due to work commitment. Therefore, I gave up signing up. Nearer to the date, I realised that I am available in the morning session. So, I registered to help them when they were looking for volunteers.

Many asked why didn’t I run. A simple answer. Because I want to try volunteering.

I’m really glad that I could contribute a little in this event. That’s because I am so close with the organising team especially with Dann, Ody, Tom, Wan and the other MetConX group.

The evening before the event day, we were required to attend a briefing in the stadium in UM. That was also the bib collection day for runners. During the briefing, Mein volunteered to be in the water station group while I in the marshall group. I will be based in the 3km spot. Excited!

The event day has arrived. We met up with our respective team leaders in UM at and were stationed to our spots as early as 5am. That’s not early compared to those masterminds behind the whole event who have been there since the day before.

Mein joined her water station team whole I actually drove to the 3km spot with another fellow volunteer, Hidayat. Great to know someone who was as sincere and passionate. He just touched down in KL from his hometown in Perak and will be leaving back to Perak the same day! Salute.

Me after cheering the runners and cleaning up the street

The event started at 7am. My function there before flag off was to direct driving participants to the stadium direction. A few FAQs from the drivers were :

a) Is there parking near the starting line?

b) Is there surau for prayers?

c) Where is the loo? 🙂

Once flag-off, I waited anxiously for the first few runners. Who could that be? True enough, the first two runners are Kenyans. Cheered them and continued waiting for the second waves of runners.

Not long after, the following waves arrived. I kept cheering for them while reminding them to keep on their left as vehicles are diverted to use the right lane.

Saw many familiar faces and runner friends. I felt so touched to have so many friends who are still into running. To name a few; James Fong, Adam Heng, Lorrine, Melvin Chong, Letch, Lilian Lee, Shear Ling, Yam, Elgy Tan, Joe Liew, Advance Tan, Jonathan, Alvin Gan, Andrew Pang and Regina Ho.

Upon the arrival of the final wave, Hidayat and I quickly helped out to clean up the used cups thrown on the floor by runners. (So happen that the water station was very nearby).

This road was full of used cups before we cleaned it. Thank you, Hidayat for the help! Both of us did great! 🙂

Mein helped to clean up too! 🙂

And distributing water to runners…

Here is Jonathan with his burdens

Hidayat and I left the 3km spot and water station as our duty there has ended. I drove back to the stadium and helped Dann in diverting traffic in front of the stadium. There were big buses and other vehicles going from both directions and runners were running on the same road. Again, I met with so many old buddies whom had just completed the run. Well done, guys!

When the traffic and numbers of runners running reduced, we walked back to the stadium and I took this chance to catch up with my friends. I always like the feeling of having them around. This group of energetic and positive people. I love you all! 🙂

The last task was to transfer all the used sandbags into the big waste container at the back of the stadium. Everyone teamed up and formed a human caterpillar, transfering the bags from one end to another. Within seconds, mission accomplised. Good job and awesome teamwork. Thanks for the wonderful experience! And well done on the great success.
