Not now???!!!

Ma and I were busy baking a cake last night. Ma wanted to bring it for her friends the next day. Eventually, we started doing the process around 8 something (which I had to sacrifice my favourite Taiwan comedy drama – 不良笑花)… I helped to shave the orange rinds… while ma busy measuring the flour, sugar, eggs and butter… Then we stirred the ingredients accordingly and then the dough was ready for the final step – OVEN time!!!

Suddenly… "dup!"BLACKOUT!!!

OH NO!!! Not now… what should we do now? With the raw dough… Haha… well, ma had to brought the dough to her friend’s house to bake it and bring the cake back… I think this is the best baking experience one could ever have…

From a Slumdog to a Millionaire

I have finally watched the much talked about film, "Slumdog Millionaire" yesterday. Generally, the movie is about a young man called Jamal trying to get out of his poor life by participating in the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game show (India version). But the main point which brought him into the game show was purely, LOVE. He wanted to get a better life for himself and his loved one, Latika. As usual, I would not want to elaborate further on the story plots here. I will be talking about my feelings after watching this film, like how I’ve been doing for other movies.

In the movie, there are a lot of beautiful scenes of India, the beautiful side and the ugly ones as well. I’m not sure if India is really that dirty and muddy but it sure gives an exposure to those who have not been to India of how India looks like. The main idea of what I’ve got from this movie is that everyone desires a better life. The way to success is all around us, like how Jamal got all his answers right in the game show. It’s just that if you are smart enough to grab every opportunities to reach success.

Valentine’s Present for Mein

Here is my present for Mein during this year’s Valentine’s. It’s a small booklet of photos compiled starting from the time when we were still friends in UUM until the time we got registered. I used recycled materials like used book & used papers to make this booklet as a gesture of supporting recycling campaign. Not all expensive gifts are good and not all good gifts are expensive! It’s the heart that counts…

And by the way, we did not have any fancy romantic dinner and all. We just had a normal KFC lunch and a very normal dinner at home… WHY??? Because we do not look like those fools who are rich enough to pay for extra expensive dinner or roses… Oops! 🙂

Join in the Darkness – 60 Earth Hour

62 countries including Malaysia have committed to participate in WWF’s Earth Hour in 2009. This will be the first time Malaysia officially takes part in Earth Hour and our Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi has indicated his support and endorsement of Malaysia’s participation.

The campaign, which hopes to reach out to more than one billion people in 1000 cities around the world, encourage individuals, businesses and governments to switch off lights for just one hour on Saturday March 28, 2009 at 8:30pm to convey their support for action on climate change. Cities already committed to Earth Hour include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, London, Hong Kong, Sydney, Rome, Manila, Oslo, Cape Town, Warsaw, Lisbon, Singapore, Istanbul, Mexico City, Toronto, Dubai and Copenhagen.

2009 is a critical year in terms of the political decisions that will be made at global climate negotiations in December 2009. Earth Hour, aims to highlight the voice of the people of the world and represent a visual mandate for meaningful policy on climate change.

If you would like to pledge your support of Earth Hour log on to http://www.earthhour.org/malaysia and sign up. If your company would like to participate in Earth Hour, please call WWF-Malaysia at Tel: +603 7803 3772 or Email: ARaj@wwf.org.my

I am trying to help in this activity, just playing a minimal part to save the earth. I urge everyone who’s read this to support the motion and participate in this meaningful "Earth Hour" campaign. What you can do is just to switch off all electricity and lights in the house for a mere ONE hour on 28 March 2009 starting from 8.30PM. Isn’t that simple? For just one hour, the electricity saved is sufficient to make a huge difference to the earth and most importantly, to us! Trying “Little Tree” for Lunch

We went to try their lunch set in Little Tree Cafe in Entrepreneur’s Park this Wednesday. They have 6 choices of main dishes and each comes with a drink (option of lemon ice or jasmine tea).

I ordered the Japanese Seafood Udon while Xon ordered his Yangchow Mango Fried Rice. Pui Wan and Yvonne had both the same dish which is the Tom Yam Meehoon.

Eventually, we found out that their best is their jasmine tea while the worst are all their main dishes. Yes, it’s disappointing, I know. Actually I can still accept the Japanese Udon but then it could be better.

Their set lunch is priced at RM8.90 each (including drink) – RM9.80 after tax.

On the same day, our boss treated us a cheese cupcake each in the office for teatime! Hurray!!!
