“Googling” My Own Name

I was surfing the Net and got bored suddenly… Got an idea to do a quick search of my own name “THUM WAI KHONG” using Yahoo and Google search engines. Well, I found a list of name at CinemaOnline where they list down the winners’ names in their list for their contest. But to my surprise, I found a link to :

I clicked on it and I found my name being listed together with Mr Liew Fook Sin’s. Remembered. This was the credit page which Mr Liew (my close unofficial supervisor at Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan [BTP] during my practical training) promised to put my name in it. I am so touched… I thought I would never have a chance to view this courseware outcome since I’ve left BTP before the end product finished. I really appreciate it and I felt so honoured having my name being listed in one of the couseware created by BTP, Ministry of Education of Malaysia.

Thank you, Mr Liew!

Our 3rd Anniversary

In a flash of lightning, we have been together for THREE (3) years… 3 precious and cherishable years. In this 3 years, I personally have learnt a lot from her. And I hope that she has learn something from me.

We have gone through a lot of different hardship, difficulties and also happiness. I believe both of us are very much looking forward to go through to another stage. I promised to do that within this year. Wait for the moment to come…

This year, we celebrated our love in Delicious @ Marc Residence. It was my second time dining here. I just wish to bring her here to try out the good food and enjoy the beautiful and relaxing environment. And good enough, she did.

Mein, I love you! Red heart

Nocturnal Animals Stamps

Just went to the post office to buy the first glow-in-the-dark stamp in Malaysia – the nocturnal animals. This set was out last 23 MARCH 08. I love the stamps and the miniature set the first time I looked at it in the newspaper.

This time they are introducing different kind of nocturnal animals. The most remembered one is the Kongkang. Another cute animal which is the Kera Hantu is featured on the miniature set. This piece costs RM5.00 only.

The others which I have bought are the normal stamps; featuring Tikus Ambang Bulan (30 sen), Teledu (30 sen), Kucing Tulap (50sen) and Keluang (RM1.00).

For those stamp lovers (old and new), quickly go and grab these items from the Philatelic Bureau in Dayabumi Complex – located right behind the main post office in KL (in the same building).

My Trip to Kuantan

Almost two and a half hour for me to drive from KL to Kuantan – to be exact, to Swiss Garden Resort and Spa. It’s my first time driving heading to the East coast. Passed by Genting, Bukit Tinggi, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuala Lipis and Gambang.

Reaching the resort, we quickly checked in and unloaded our luggages. THen, drove back out to the town to look for lunch. Found a kopitiam, Kemaman Kopitiam. Price – reasonable (but it’s like pricing in KL), food – variety of choices (more than in KL) and taste – not up my expectation (KL is better). Anyway, it’s very surprising to find a company like Kemaman Kopitiam to have their own branding. They have branches and packages of instant coffee, cookies, dodols, tea bags and etc. The decoration looks similar like any other kopitiams in town. Nothing special.

Back to the hotel, we went to the pool in the evening and had good relaxing time in the jacuzzi. Really enjoyed ourselves there. So relaxing and comfortable.

A brief walk along the beach was great as well. There were a group of youngsters playing beach volleyball.

In the evening, we drove out further to a restaurant by the sea side called, River Seafood Restaurant. As usual, we are having pure local Malay seafood cuisine. We ordered a roasted sting ray (ikan pari bakar), cuttlefish tomyam (tomyam sotong) and a dish of telur bistik (fried egg with meat & mixed vegetable in tomato sauce). Taste sooooo good! Being a fan of local Malay food, I really love the food. Price is… CHEAP! Only spent RM24.20 for the both of us. Cukup pedas dan rasa.

Overall, the trip was too short but yet enjoyable. We bought a packet of lemang with a bowl of rendang ayam. (glutinous rice and coconut milk cooked in a hollowed bamboo stick with a bowl of chicken rendang). Taste so traditional! Open-mouthed
