Iftar Buffet at Zebra Square

In conjunction with the coming month of Ramadhan, for the very first time, Zebra Square Kuala Lumpur will be offering Ramadhan Iftar Buffet with a nostalgic “Traditional Kampung” atmosphere starting from 7th – 30th April 2022. The same buffet is also available at the Grand Pacific Ballroom, Evolve Concept Mall.

The buffet spreads prepared by Executive Chef Mohamed Muzaffar and his dedicated team serves tempting local cuisine, delightful western dishes as well as other gastronomical stunts right before the diners’ eyes. The main highlight of the buffet is the well marinated, succulent Grilled Lamb which fits for Ramadhan feast every day.

Other than that, the buffet spread features traditional authentic kampung food like Daging Gulai Utara, Ikan Masin Nenas, Ikan Bakar, Ayam Palembang, Kerabu Perut and many more. Not forgetting also, there will be Traditional Malay and Nyonya kuih as well as other assorted puddings, cakes, and a good selection of refreshing drinks.

The prices for each venue are priced at Zebra Square KL: RM 125 nett (Adult) & RM 55 nett (Child/Senior Citizen) and Grand Pacific Ballroom, Evolve Concept Mall: RM 92 nett (Adult) & RM 45 nett (Child/Senior Citizen).

Gula Apong Desserts at Oh Apong Cafe

Hey buddies!

Have you heard of gula apong before? Well, gula apong is actually a kind of sweet substance produced from the sap of nipah palm tree commonly found in Sarawak. Taste-wise, gula apong is less sweet compared to refined sugar with hints of salted caramel flavour, and is high in minerals and vitamins.

I learned about this from a cafe I recently visited called 𝗢𝗵 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲 in Emporis, Kota Damansara.

I’ve had a great dining experience there. The ambience was cozy and relaxing with soothing deco and interior. 💯% insta-worthy.

I was introduced to their must-try item, the 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴 soft serve ice-cream, which was really delicious – rich but not too sweet, with a smooth consistency and creamy texture, topped with crunchy bits of coconut flakes.

For pastry, I had a 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘂 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲. This is the bomb! Crunchy and flaky puff pastry with moist dark chocolate filling in the centre. Every bite feels like heaven. Yes! Approved by yours truly, a hardcore fan of chocolate! 🤤

Another pastry which I strongly recommend is the 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝘆𝗮𝗸𝗶. It’s got creamy custard on the inside, with crunchy burnt sugar on the outside. Full of surprises, this is definitely a must-try!

I also had a cup of 𝗜𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 to chill with, perfect for my coffee break! 😁 I like the aroma and taste very much. Perfect combination of milk and espresso, mixed with melted gula apong to taste.

Digital Oil Painting by The Creative Factory

I got a very meaningful gift for my parent-in-laws. They live in Penang and I was looking for a gift that is special to represent my love to them since we live very far away and could not stay with them most of the time.

Hence I sent a photo of us we took during our last trip to Batu Ferringhi to @the_creative_factory_my to be recreated as a digital painting. Just in time for CNY, I received the beautiful digital painting before I drove back to Penang the other day. My parent-in-laws were very touched and love the painting very much. The precious moment was captured on camera when we did the unboxing together.

New Pet Food for Bobby – Equilibrio

I think I haven’t feature my family pet dog enough on my social media so far. Well, this is Bobby. He has been with us for more than 10 years. He takes care of our house very well. To others, Bobby is a pet dog but to us, he is family.

Lately we introduced a new pet food brand to Bobby called Equilibrio Dog for Adult Medium Breed by @equilibriomalaysia.

Little did we know before this, Equilibrio is actually a super premium pet food brand with products of high nutritional value, prescribed by professionals including veterinarians!
