A Minor Accident @ Spg Ampat, Melaka

We were about to reach the Simpang Ampat toll to come back to KL but were stuck in a massive jam due to an accident at the roundabout. It was between a Proton Saga and a big lorry. We were two cars behind. We saw 2 elderly makciks coming out from the car, shaking. Pity them.

As both sides of the narrow road were blocked, the car in front of me drove its way through from the left side on the grass lane and managed through. I followed BUT bad enough, I heard a loud thud sound when trying to escape on the grass lane. Mein went down and saw engine oil spraying out from my car. Trying to stay calm, I stopped and parked the car at a safe spot. The hole was caused by a short steel left on the grass ground. It used to be a pole there but being cut and the short "leftover" remained there.

It was very dark as it’s almost midnight already. All I could see was engine oil spraying out from the tank. I called Chee Seng (a friend who’s staying there) for assistance. At the same time, I called a few other people like my car insurance agent, a tow truck provider, an ex-colleague and others.

After Chee Seng arrived, he gave me a contact number to a tow truck provider in Melaka called Alex Tan. Good enough, everything settled quick with their help. Stayed another night at Chee Seng’s house and took a day off.

The Day We Were Models…

20 October 2009 – The day we had our bridal photo shoot. Here are some preview of Mein’s gown. We started at 10AM and ended at 930PM. Imagine how tired we were?! Luckily lunch (chicken rice) were provided. Starving at the end of the day.

We didn’t know that there’s this beautiful scenery in Lake Gardens…

Look! "Tu kia" (our baby) is there too for the photo session… This dress was with a can-can finishing…

Night gown…

Chinese costume… merah padam aka cili padi…?! Oops! 🙂

Mein in a beige-coloured Cheongsam… I liked this the most… Very beautiful…

Well, as for myself, I wore all my own clothes. Only used one or two of their coats. For people my size, better bring your own jacket/coat/blazer… Most of their sizes are for fat big guys… So loose… If you guys and gals are anxious to see the outcome, we are MORE! So, be patient…

A Rude Awakening : A Fallen Tree on the Kitchen Roof

It was 5AM and was raining the whole night. Not heavy rain but drizzling… I heard a long screeching sound, followed by leaves scattering sound… I quickly opened the window and saw shadows of leaves waving and heard a not-so-loud thud sound. GOSH! It was the tree! We knew this tall tree would fall one day and this day came! I was so worried that it would break the roof of our kitchen. I dashed down to the kitchen and luckily it was not broken. It was dark outside. All I could see was shadows of leaves waving.

I went online to search for the contact number to DBKL for assistance. It was Sunday. There must be someone working today as this is kinda an emergency. Good enough, after a thorough search on the Net. I found the contact to DBKL 24 hrs assistance service for fallen trees (contact no. below). This number was such a relieve to my heart.

After calling them around 730AM, they sent someone to help. They reached us at around 9AM. Good enough, they cleared the mess (kind of!)… Leaving those leftovers behind my house yard. It’s ok. They advised to go the the nearest DBKL branch (which is in Kuchai Lama) to fill in a complain form to get someone to clear the leftovers. I’m fine with that. Thanks to them for helping us clearing the heavy-duty tree early in a Sunday morning.

Actually the huge tree branch fell right on my neighbour’s kitchen rooftop. Lucky enough a small tree and the telephone cables saved the rooftop from being serious damages. We are so lucky to have everyone in the house safe and sound.

Visit Kinraramas on Deepavali

Personally dropped by to Kinraramas this afternoon and snapped some photogs… of our future home… Can’t wait to move in… But, of coz, before the “moving in”, there are still a lot to think about like renovation, furniture arrangement, bla bla bla… (and the list goes on…)

Also, I noted that there is this grey colour tone painted on the building… I guess they are changing the external paint colour… Really hope that they can complete the work on time… And I love the new colour… Don’t you guys know it’s the new black now?! 🙂
