On the First Day of Raya

SELAMAT HARI RAYA! MAAF ZAHIR BATIN!!!

It’s Hari Raya again which mean holidays and food! A friend asked us to join him to the Open House in Sri Perdana, Putrajaya. It’s our first time attending such big scaled open house, by our PM.At the main entrance… there were many people from all races and countries. Everyone’s main intention was to “visit the PM” a.k.a. “eat free”.

Well the buffet line was not too long when we arrived. What more?! Helped ourselves with the rendang, ketupat, lemang etc etc… It was quite well arranged where you see people sitting nicely together, eating their plate of food. But I think it would be better if more trash bins are prepared around the tent.

Everyone CANNOT leave the open house without the satay. But it was quite disappointing. The sauce was so watery and thin. And every round one line up, only 3 sticks were given. You want more, you queue more. Macam tak ikhlas aje!

Mein’s favourite delicacy : Putu piring.. But same case, disappointing. This what happen when you do something in large scale – quality control failure!

This was the funniest part. We saw everyone coming out from the main building was holding a nice box of souvenir from the PM. We were so curious of what’s in the box. So, after our meal, we tried our luck to “meet & greet the PM and his lovely wife”. So, we followed the queue into the Sri Perdana building. It took us about 30 minutes to so-called line to reach the front door. Everyone just jostle each other and you can hardly breathe. (I wonder if they do this every year). In less then 3 minutes after entering the building, we shook some hands of some ministers whom I hardly recognise, when ended our journey to discover what’s in the box. The mystery is finally revealed.

TADAA!!! Here you go everyone! It’s a packet of “muruku”. I love you, PM & wife!!! That’s so thoughtful to you.

Selamat Hari Raya! Ampun maaf sekiranya terdapat silap dan salah dalam pertuturan dan kelakuan pada diri saya.

CariBilik Is Now Known As iBilik

Wow! CariBilik.com is now known as iBilik.com.

This website has been a useful tool to those who are looking for rooms for rent in the whole Malaysia as well as owners who wanted to rent out their properties.

In the newly revamped site, it looks like there are more locations available for users to choose from, basically, all the states in Malaysia with Kuala Lumpur having the most rooms available followed by Selangor. Also to highlight is that you can actually search and filter your search according to your own criteria. For instance, if you are looking for a house/room to share, you can filter the gender and race and it actually saves up your time to searching high and low.

For anyone looking for short-term rental like a few days or a week, try this website as well. You might find a room for your short stay and the price could be cheaper compared to a hotel. The best thing is that you can view the condition of the rooms in the gallery as well as getting its direction from the map attached on the page.

To book or enquire about any rooms, just register yourself and you will be a part of the iBilik community for unlimited possibilities in renting a room for yourself and friends or family. Indulgence @ Senjakala Spa

It’s been a while I have not pamper myself in a spa, since Jogja trip which was probably 4 months back. Saw a promotion in Groupon from Senjakala Spa. Have heard of this spa for quite some time but no chance going there yet. Well, bought the coupon and what more, made an appointment with them.

Surprisingly, the way from my office to the spa was so smooth and unexpectedly no jam. The spa is somewhere near Puduraya bus station and Tung Shin Hospital. For exact location, you can refer Senjakala’s official website. As for parking, you have a few choices. Paid parkings ranging from RM3 to RM6 per entry are available. But, I parked further, nearer to Tung Shin Hospital which was free (after 6pm).

Back to the Spa, the environment was so divine and calm. Comfortable. Upon registration, I was served with a cup of hot tea. After they’ve sorted out the therapist for me, I was brought to their VIP room. WOW! It’s the Attic Lounge, the room located at the toppest level. The room has its own shower, prepared with shower gel and shampoo.

The therapist was very professional. After getting myself massaged and scrubbed, took a warm shower again and signed off. Upon signing off, the receptionist asked if I wanted to pay any tips for the masseur. This is optional.

I am definitely coming back for more.

Welcome to their 1 of 4 VIP rooms with built-in shower : The Attic Lounge

I laid on the bed and got some pampering treatment… Pure indulgence… Love it!

A corner in the room…

The built-in shower…

Missing this place already…

Signing off…

A Friend’s Bad Experience

A friend of mine had a bad experience when he went to buy a smart phone from this shop, Ocean Thirteen Mobile Phone Enterprise (K13, 4th Floor) in The Mines Shopping Centre.

On 16 June 2011, he went to the shop and asked for a phone with GPS function as he needs it while traveling outstation. Prior to that, he had Samsung Galaxy Mini in his mind (which fits his requirements). Upon reaching the shop, the salesperson a.k.a Mr Sky, tried his best to persuade him to buy another model, Samsung Corby 2, which is RM100 cheaper. Mr Sky allegedly told my friend that the Corby 2 is :

  1. Of better performance than Galaxy Mini (using 800Mhz Processor);
  2. With Android OS;
  3. With GPS function (which is the main requirement my friend needed).

Believing what this salesperson said, my friend bought the Corby 2. He then explored the new Corby 2 and realized that all 3 claims were eventually false. Most importantly, it has NO GPS FUNCTION which my friend required.

He then quickly send back the phone to the shop next day and coincidentally, Mr Sky was on leave. My friend then talked to another salesperson and requested to change the phone to the one he wanted originally, Galaxy Mini. This salesperson told him that he can only do that by trading in the Corby 2 with second hand price. OMG! I can’t accept this. He then told my friend that he can accept back the Corby 2 by charging him extra RM160 to get the Galaxy Mini plus installing their GPS software and antivirus with an additional RM108. Of course my friend rejected the offer and went home. He then returned home without trading in and waited for Mr Sky’s return.

My friend went back that shop on 18 June 2011 and met Mr Sky. He said the same thing which is to trade in the phone with second hand price, except that he had to pay RM160 + RM160. However, my friend took the offer without wanting him to do anything to his new phone.

He had lodged a report to the Mines management via email. His report was acknowledged with a follow up call, stating that they are going to issue a warning to that shop but requested my friend not to send this report to The Star newspaper, fearing that this will tarnish their name.

I personally see this is a serious issue. This is totally cheating and “bright light robbing” consumers, and I hope anyone reading this would be warned about the existence of dishonest salespersons outside. Just be very alert and aware of your right as a consumer.

Disclaimer : I blogged this to warn all my friends and readers about the services they provide. It is up to them to judge whether to make any purchase from the shop or not after reading. This is not to tarnish any party’s name. Just sharing a friend’s experience.
