New Level of Stress

STRESS – I have faced an all new level of stress lately. I couldn’t fall asleep. I couldn’t stop my mind from thinking about life-related stuff (ESPECIALLY money-related issues). I sweat heavily while trying to sleep. Negative thoughts come to me. I felt like ending all these sufferings by terminating my life. I felt like jumping down from a high building. (Yes, don’t be surprised I did!)

Eventually, I tried to talk to a few friends. They’ve helped me a lot with their advice. Their words mean so much to me. At least they made me realise that I am not the only one facing such trauma… and it’s NOT worth it. (Thanks to a friend for this power phrase).

So, if any of you is undergoing such pressure, try talk to some friends. I’m sure you’ll feel much better.

Yummy Food We Love…

We’ve been trying out new food lately, basically, everywhere and here are some special dishes (or drinks) we wish you’ll love…

1) Old Taste Kopitiam @ Puchong

Mein’s a huge fan of this 3 layered milk tea. I liked it too! Very strong taste of pure gula melaka… Not all 3 layered milk tea are the same like this one.

2) Restoran Teow Chew Meng @ SS2

The shop…

There are a few other dishes that they serve but I love this the most! OCTOPUS!!! Yummy! Oh, and their peanut-ty sauce too! 🙂

3) Huge Curry Puff @ K3K

K3K – a new outlet in Entrepreneurs Park, Kuchai Lama (near my office lah)…

Look! Can you see how huge the curry puff is?! It’s only RM4.50 each… Buuurrpp!!!

4) Durian Pancake @ Sweet Chatz

Delicious… 3 pieces per plate…

Look at the creamy durian… gosh… drooling…

Avatar : Before & After

BEFORE :

AFTER :

Frankly speaking, after watching Avatar, I wondered why were there so many movie-goers who loved it so much and highly appraising this movie. To me, it’s just another money-earning, commercialized film which did not impress me. I, personally, am not into sci-fi and fictional movies as I couldn’t relate the story to the real world.

If this movie is about love, well, I do agree that love could be across the border at times… But I don’t believe falling in love with an "alien"…

If this movie is about the environment, I think it could be better if the story is about people saving our earth. But not some other planet called Pandora… (BTW, the names used are so fake, dull and inconvincing)…

If this movie is about the ugly side of human-beings, well, why don’t they talk about our own human race disgracing our own planet and animals, creating war against other countries, polluting the earth and other shameful stuff people do.

I just couldn’t relate the whole idea to us…

Anyway, I got the tickets free. So, I have no objections watching it at the first place.

P/S : I am not against the movie creator or his team. I am just writing my feelings as someone who is not a sci-fi movie lover (like how some non-drama movie lovers do)

Glutinous Rice Balls = Tang Yuan 汤圆

It’s ‘dong zhi’ (冬至) again. It is a special day in the lunar calendar and to the Chinese, it a day bigger or more important than the Lunar New Year. The main thing that we need to do is to have a big family reunion dinner on this special day. Another significant item (or shall I say, food) related to this special day is the glutinous rice balls (汤圆). I love these colourful 汤圆 very much, specifically those with ‘gula melaka’ fillings. Delicious!

Now get all the ingredients ready – colourful glutinous rice flour dough + ‘gula melaka’

Wrap the ‘gula melaka’ with the dough and shape them into small ball shapes…

Boil the balls in boiling water. Cooked ones will float.

Scoop out the cooked ones and dunk ’em into sweet pandan water… Served hot or chilled! 🙂
