MAGGI® is back with its six-episode reality show, Resipi Berani MAGGI® Season 2. From a pool of 2,000 women, 12 mentees made the cut to take on a series of culinary and entrepreneurial challenges for the grand champion title.

The reality show returns with its three prominent MAGGI® Mentors – Food Enthusiast and Brand Ambassador of MAGGI® CukupRasa, Datin Paduka Eina Azman; Director, Producer, Actress and Owner of The Dim Sum Place, Sheila Rusly; and Entrepreneur Icon and Owner of My Mum’s Bakery, Anne Idris – who will nurture the 12 mentees throughout the reality series in various Feedback Mentorship Sessions. For Season 2 which is hosted by Nana Mahazan (also the host for Season 1), the series will feature four celebrity guest judges – Stacy Anam, Betty Rahmad, Aisya J, and Chef Sherson Lian.

“We are excited to showcase the second season of the reality show to help further upskill and empower more women in terms of enhancing their business acumen, whilst providing them with a platform to both shine and achieve their dreams. Watch how the mentees step outside their comfort zones, undergo hurdles, build their self-confidence, and grow guided by MAGGI’s experienced Mentors and our new line-up of celebrity guest judges!”

“The MAGGI reality show aims to showcase and celebrate the mentees’ transformational journey in growing a food business to inspire women to take the leap of faith and embark on something new, ushering in positive change and improvement into their lives. We have witnessed discernible transformation in the mentees who won in the first season, and how they have truly inspired and impacted the lives of many others too,”

said Geetha Balakrishna, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI®, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.

Besides receiving a seed capital of RM8,000, the grand winner of the Resipi Berani MAGGI® Season 2 will undergo an intensive 8-week mentorship programme with entrepreneur icon, Anne Idris, focusing on upscaling a food business, managing branding strategies and cost efficiencies.

The Second and Third place winners will receive a seed capital of RM5,000 each.

Resipi Berani MAGGI® is a culmination of the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI®, which aims to inspire more women to step out of their comfort zones, embracing the ‘Tak Kenal, Tak Cinta’ (‘Never Try, Never Know’) spirit. The programme is hosted in partnership between MAGGI® and Google Malaysia, featuring a series of Bengkel Online Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI® focusing on building self-confidence, improving business skills through digital upskilling and enhancing cooking skills. The 12 finalists of Resipi Berani MAGGI® were selected from a pool of over 2,000 women who participated in the series of upskilling workshops in 2021.

The 12 finalists in the Resipi Berani MAGGI® Season 2 are:

  • Anastasia Maigi (Sabah)
  • Kalarani D/O Subramaniam (Putrajaya)
  • Mellony Anak Stephen (Sarawak)
  • Nazrina binti Zamani (Selangor)

  • Norli binti Mohd Azmi (Selangor)
  • Kentila D/O Veerayah (Selangor)
  • Nur Syahidah Aimullah binti Abdul Rahim (Kedah)
  • Nurul ‘Syaza Shahirah binti A. Samsuddin (Malacca)
  • Nurul Hajar Ismail (Johor)
  • Rozana Sari binti Roslan (Pahang)
  • Suzaimi binti Zahari (Terengganu)

I am very honoured to be invited to attend the Resipi Berani MAGGI® Season 2 – Exclusive Watch Party last Wednesday and I must say I had fun watching Episode 1 with my fellow bloggers. I still remember the hall had a good laugh from the reactions of the mentors especially the witty Sheila Rusly and also some finalists who gave spontaneous and unexpected answers to the questions asked by the mentors. There was one saying that she loves menembak (shooting) and everyone in the watch party laughed so hard at her impetuous answer. Eventually she used to be a military reserve force. Bang! Bang!

Catch the episode for more excitement and see how these ladies learn to build their cooking hobby into a profitable business.

The upcoming Resipi Berani MAGGI® Season 2 reality show will be aired at 4.30 pm on TV3 every Friday for 6 weeks beginning 8 July, with a repeat at 11.30 am on Saturday. Viewers can also stream the episodes through MAGGI®’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/maggimalaysia) from 5.00 pm every Friday, 8 July onwards.

The Latest Signature Dishes in Première Hotel Klang – Kung Fu Steamed Fish and Fish Head Curry

Craving for some curry goodness? Or prefer steamed food instead?

Première Hotel Klang is introducing their latest signature dishes – Kung Fu Steamed Fish and Fish Head Curry. These unique and authentic dishes are prepared by Chinese Head Chef, San Chong Chen and his culinary team of The Royal Gourmet Restaurant and are available from July & August 2022.

I have tried them both and I must say that you should try them too!

The Kung Fu Steamed Fish is perfectly steamed, flavoured with light soy sauce and topped with cilantro, goji berry, enoki mushroom and some spring onion. I personally like the well-balanced taste of this soy sauce very much as it blends in perfectly and enhances the flavour of this dish. Kung Fu Steamed Fish is priced at RM55 nett per set.

Another dish is the Fish Head Curry – definitely a must-try for all fish head curry lovers. The curry is extremely rich and savoury that comes with a thick fish curry gravy base – a concoction of fish curry powder, evaporated milk, curry leaves and topped with eggplant, tomatoes, crunchy long beans and fried beancurd – perfect for 2 to 3 servings in one portion. Definitely taste authentic and flavourful, best served with rice. Fish Head Curry is available at RM38 nett per set.

These special dishes are exclusively available from July & August 2022.

Do not miss this awesome deal of the month!

Bega Cheese, My Favourite Wholesome Breakfast Choice for the Family

It’s breakfast time! 🥰

I made some wholesome breakfast for the family with @bega.malaysia cheese. My favourite is Bega Super Slims as I am watching my weight lately. Other family’s favourites are Bega Cheddar Slices and Bega Tatura Salted Butter. Both are great to eat with bread, croissants and crackers. Of course, we enjoyed these with some fresh fruits and coffee. Delicious!

I choose dairy products from Bega, an Australian brand because they offer a wide range of nutritional and high quality cheese and butter since 1899, as well as dairy products suitable for baking and cooking too. Their products are also manufactured to stringent specifications using internationally accredited manufacturing facilities. I also admire their continual effort in product innovation and investing in new recipe development and food solutions.

Turkish Cuisine Week at Shangri-la Hotel KL

I have always wanted to visit Turkey, but well, it’s still a dream for me now. However, it’s not a dream to enjoy authentic and delightful Turkish cuisine now right here in Kuala Lumpur!

Turkish Cuisine has always been an important element in Turkish culture for its legendary flavours and creative presentations. Hence, Turkish Cuisine Week has been declared from 21 May to 27 May to appreciate the deep-rooted culinary tradition of Turkiye.

I am very honoured to be invited to attend the Gala Dinner to launch Turkish Cuisine Week, organised by the Turkish Embassy Tourism & Information Office in Kuala Lumpur and hosted by H.E Ambassador Dr Merve Safa Kavakci, Turkish Ambassador to Malaysia held at Shangri-la Hotel on 17th May 2022. The Gala Dinner was attended by Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, government officials, local chefs, invited guests, media and influencers.

I got the opportunity to try various types of Turkish cuisine that evening – for example – Doner & Ekmek, Tandir (Lamb leg confit) on Ic pilav (rice with lamb liver and sultanas), Hunkar begendi (slow cooked veal on hot eggplant rague), Kuzu sis (lamb skewer), Tavuk sis (chicken skewer), Kadinbudu kofte (fried minced lamb & rice), Eksili kofte (minced lamb balls stew) and Izmir kofte (minced beef stew with potato). Not forgetting their delicious desserts like Sekerpare (pistachio cookies with syrup), Firin Sutlac (oven baked rice & milk pudding), Cevizli kabak (pumpkin confit with walnut), Irmik Helvasi (Semolina Halwa) and many more!

There was live music throughout the dinner time and a Turkish coffee demonstration too. As a coffee-lover myself, this was really an amazing experience for me to witness this myself. And guess who’s lucky that night? I won a beautiful Turkish ceramic vase by Blue Eyes Gift Shop in the lucky draw! Yayyy!!!

For those who wish to indulge in Turkish Cuisine, you can visit the Lemon Garden, Shangri-la Hotel from 21 May to 27 May and the buffet is priced at RM168 nett (Tuesday – Thursday) and RM188 nett (Friday – Sunday & Public Holiday) for lunch; RM188 nett (Tuesday – Thursday) for dinner and RM248 nett (Friday – Sunday) for the premium dinner where guests can also array of seafood and local Malaysian cuisine.

For more information on Turkish Cuisine Week, visit turkishcuisineweek.com and reservations can be made at restaurantreservations.slkl@shangri-la.com or +6019-390 2257.
