A Feast of Rich Food in JOGOYA

Tis’ the season of promotion in Jogoya. 50% off for ladies. Went there with ma, May and Yin. 4 of us reached there right on time and started our journey of rich food from 11am to 2pm (But we left early as we were too full to stuff ourselves at 1.30pm).

It was too happy to be true that I met my ex-colleague who is now working in Jogoya. She gave me 5 VIP tickets to try out their VIP dishes. Too nice of you, Jen Ne – muacks!

There were too many food to try. We didn’t even bother to look at those spaghetti, noodles or whatever they have at the other side of the restaurant.

My biggest surprise of the day was that a human-being can really get too tired of fresh oyster in just one meal.

My biggest disappointment was that their cakes and bakeries are too lousy. None of them impresses me. Not even their chocolate fudge or anything with chocolates there. They really need to buck up on it!

We tried 5 of their VIP dishes and I liked their flower tea the most!

Thai Cuisine in Jalan Alor

I was being recommended to try out a Thai Restaurant in Jalan Alor by a friend. I have always wanted to go but I couldn’t until last Saturday.

thai7 Mango Kerabu – RM12.00

Mein and I tried their Seafood Tom Yam and Mango Kerabu. Needless to say, the food was indeed very authentic and rich with the original Thai cuisine taste. We will definitely come back for more…

This restaurant is located a few shop next to the church at the Jalan Alor junction, behind KFC.

Chili Espresso – A Great Experience!

We have got our time finally wanted to try the food in Isthmus. We have a few vouchers which we wanted to use since a long time but only until now we’ve got the chance to use it. It’s a RM50 discount voucher dining at Isthmus.

When we reached there, the polite waiter told us that they are closed only for private functions. But their coffee house called Chili Espresso is opened. So, we sat down and had a look at their menu. We checked with the waiter if we can use the voucher there. He checked with his superior and an assistant manager, Ms Michelle came to us and greeted us. She told us that we can use the voucher there nicely and I am very happy with their professionalism and fair treatment to all their guests.

Basically, they serve fushion food. Well, we were very much into western yesterday, so we ordered pasta and a chicken dish.

Mein ordered Pan tossed Pasta in Homemade Italian Tomato Sauce while I wanted Pan-seared Spiced Honey Chicken. As for drinks, Mein had a glass of Orange and Mango while I had their Fresh Banana, Yoghurt and Honey Smoothies.

Waited patiently at our table, we chatted and the waiter too came and had some short conversation with us. And he actually knew when to stop. That’s so great about him/them.

After around 15 minutes, another waiter came and told me that the chicken they had were not fresh and suggested to order another dish. Well, without further delay, I ordered a fish dish instead – Pan-seared Organic Farmed Barramundi.

Later, Mein’s pasta came. We tried and tasted the pasta. Incredible! The taste was very much near to perfection. We loved it. The only thing lacking was that they missed out the seafood which we wanted to add-on. But it’s ok. Just treat is a a way to cut down calories and cholesterol! Huh!!!

While waiting for my Barramundi to ready, a surprised complimentary bread was served to me. Very impressive. Not only they apologized for not having the chicken for me, they actually compliment their guests for waiting for the next dish. Two thumbs up!

Not long later, the fish swam to the table and I am glad that I can have a plate of protein-ful fish served right in front of me with healthy vegetables and sauce.

Oh, the drinks were great too! Naturally fresh and tasty!

Dimsum Buffet @ China Treasures, Sime Darby Convention Center

Found a "new" place for breakfast – Dimsum Buffet @ China Treasures, Sime Darby Convention Centre. We were excited for this breakfast trip as it’s supposed to be a small celebration for my best friend.

Everything went well except the lady who served us. She was rather rude to us. I’m not sure if she’s got a double standard attitude or what but we felt that. We were treated badly and she even dare to argue back with me. The conversation goes like this :

I passed the order list to that lady and said : These are our order for now.

Lady : This is already so many!

Me : You mean you’re going to bring everything at one go to our table?

Lady : Yes, of course! (in a stern manner) Why don’t you order again later when you finish the first round?

Me : Well, nevermind. We’ll finish up slowly.

Lady : I’m just worried if the food becomes cold. Then that’s not good loh… (in a sarcastic way)

Me : You just bring the food here. We’ll sit here as long as we want!

We went there just to try out there food and wanted to relax after the long week of working but she’s spoilt our day. The whole morning, we just felt disturbed by this lady.

Their service was damn poor. After finishing our first round, we ordered another 2 plates of egg tarts, separately, one by one. The first plate came and my friend ordered another plate with another waiter (man). He then placed the order to the kitchen. Later the lady came and tidy up our table. Assuming that we’ve finished our food and rushed us to leave. We sat quietly thinking that the second plate of egg tart is coming but it didn’t show up. We asked the lady to check with the kitchen, and guess what’s the response of the lady?

Lady : Why don’t tell earlier?! I’ve tidy up everything only you say. (With a bad face, she went to the kitchen)

My friend told her to check with the kitchen. If the tarts weren’t ready, just leave it. We’ll leave and go. She then went to the kitchen but never came back. Until a very long time, my friend called her again asking about the egg tarts. She then only told us that the tarts were finished. *Pissed off!*

Paid the bill and left.

Frankly speaking, I wouldn’t want to come back to this place ever again. At the first place, it’s not easy to find such "ulu" place. With such service, I guess the best thing for them to do is to close down!
