Our New Pet Dog – HOTDOG

HD1 HD2  HD4 HD5

We found this puppy in our porch last Friday morning during a very frightening incident which I would not be telling here… Well, it was very furious and scared at our first encounter. But later on, it calmed down and became tame. We decided to keep it ass our pet. We name him – HOTDOG. HOTDOG is a very smart dog. It always finds its own toilet when it wana do "big business"… But a bit naughty. It needs to be scolded very time cause it likes to sneak into the house whenever it managed to… Very cute…

A Sunday Running Around Puchong

This should be my final run before the year ends. For sure, CF and I won’t be giving up this healthy past time so soon. We would be resting and will be back for more next year!

On this special Sunday morning, May, Yin, Mein and I have joined the IOI Community Run. Two special guests appearances are Lau and Xon, my fellow friends from the office. If I’m not wrong, this is their first run of such kind. CF brought his big gang as well, separately.

This run is a bit different from the others that we’ve joined because it’s just 7.3km. But the medals are only given to the top 20 runners from each category. Certificates are given to those who finished their run within the qualifying time… and as usual, the certs are definitely in my hands. A bit disappointed as the medals quotas are of such a limited amount 😦

Genting Trailblazer 2008 : My Definition of Extreme Leisure

After waiting for almost 2 months after registering Genting Trailblazer 2008, the moment has come. Frankly speaking, Chee Fah and I had NO idea of what Genting Trailblazer is all about. What we knew was that it’s a race where we need to run, jungle trek and go through various field obstacles. We do not know what will we face UNTIL we were given a briefing a day before the race. OMG! Both of us were like… "Can we just stay in the room and pretend that we are not registered???" Haha! Well, I was being too exaggerating.

Anyhow, after reporting ourselves at the counter, we got our room keys and checked in. We got a room which we think it’s a "heaven" before entering the "hell"!!! Hahaha! I got a chance to swim before the briefing started. Cool!

During the briefing, we were informed that this time, the run will be a part of the "Go-Green" campaign where everyone must take part to play a role of loving the environment. We are not allowed to bring in any disposable plastic bottles and throw rubbish in the jungle. We were given a green coloured water bottle each for race. Only one water station will be set after coming out of the jungle (near the long house area). I fully support the "Go-Green" motion and I have full played a role in the whole run. We did not bring any water bottles or any rubbish into the jungle. So, I’m proud of myself for that.

We had a dinner buffet in the coffee house. The food was so-so. Went back to the room early as we were full. Suddenly, thunder and rain came… OMG!!! In our heart, we were thinking, "How to run on slippery routes??? What more in the jungle!" *Sigh*

We were so bored that we went down to the lounge and had our supper. Guess what?! We had a foot long hot dog, a blueberry cheese cake, watermelon juice and mocktail of the month. We only spent 60 sens for all of these!!! Haha! The total bill was RM50.60. We used the Holiday Card worth RM50 given to us upon registration and topped up 60 sens for the meal. Very worth it! (Although the service there could be better!) So thoughtful of the organiser! Hahaha! (Burp! I am still full now…)

The sleepless night has passed. We woke up at 5.30am and prepared our breakfast; half boiled eggs, energy bars and soya bean milk. At same time, we did some stretchings and warmed up to prepare ourselves for the race.

It was still drizzling when we reported ourselves at the starting point and we knew that nothing can stop us from racing. Both of us were in Category D (Adventure Men) and were flagged off at 8.45am. It started on tar roads through the football field to the golf course. After the gold course, we had no turning back and dashed into the jungle. The jungle road was slippery and muddy. No worries! We were of no obstructions!

Throughout the whole journey in the jungle, we had to be careful and at the same time, FAST! Jungle trekking in a fast pace? – My first time. It’s extremely challenging as the routes were either too steep to climb up or to slide down. Chee Fah and I helped one another and the best part was that we had to drink water from the river as we did not bring any water with us. Never regretting this. The natural liquid was really refreshing and cooling.

After running and jungle trekking for a long long time, we finally reached the long house area where the water station was located. We refreshed ourselves for awhile and continued jogging back to the finishing line. Upon reaching the finishing line, we had to go through 15 field obstacles. We had to climb hills, swim across mud pools, climb walls, jump fences and all. It was tough but again, nothing can stop us!

Finally we reached the finishing line and got placing #30 in our Category D. It was surprising to us that as a first timer, we managed to end the race, safely, in the TOP 30 ranking! Kudos to Team D023!!! And we took 1 hour 56 minutes to complete the race. It’s a good record as we are sure that we will be back to break the record next year!

The Many Faces of…

Well, since it’s a public holiday but Mein has to work (her office is a bit strange for having their employees working on a public holiday)… I have decided to send Mein to work and have breakfast before she starts work. As usual, we went to Old Town Kopitiam in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. Took some photos of my girl and made it into a masterpiece! 🙂

Chili Espresso – A Great Experience!

We have got our time finally wanted to try the food in Isthmus. We have a few vouchers which we wanted to use since a long time but only until now we’ve got the chance to use it. It’s a RM50 discount voucher dining at Isthmus.

When we reached there, the polite waiter told us that they are closed only for private functions. But their coffee house called Chili Espresso is opened. So, we sat down and had a look at their menu. We checked with the waiter if we can use the voucher there. He checked with his superior and an assistant manager, Ms Michelle came to us and greeted us. She told us that we can use the voucher there nicely and I am very happy with their professionalism and fair treatment to all their guests.

Basically, they serve fushion food. Well, we were very much into western yesterday, so we ordered pasta and a chicken dish.

Mein ordered Pan tossed Pasta in Homemade Italian Tomato Sauce while I wanted Pan-seared Spiced Honey Chicken. As for drinks, Mein had a glass of Orange and Mango while I had their Fresh Banana, Yoghurt and Honey Smoothies.

Waited patiently at our table, we chatted and the waiter too came and had some short conversation with us. And he actually knew when to stop. That’s so great about him/them.

After around 15 minutes, another waiter came and told me that the chicken they had were not fresh and suggested to order another dish. Well, without further delay, I ordered a fish dish instead – Pan-seared Organic Farmed Barramundi.

Later, Mein’s pasta came. We tried and tasted the pasta. Incredible! The taste was very much near to perfection. We loved it. The only thing lacking was that they missed out the seafood which we wanted to add-on. But it’s ok. Just treat is a a way to cut down calories and cholesterol! Huh!!!

While waiting for my Barramundi to ready, a surprised complimentary bread was served to me. Very impressive. Not only they apologized for not having the chicken for me, they actually compliment their guests for waiting for the next dish. Two thumbs up!

Not long later, the fish swam to the table and I am glad that I can have a plate of protein-ful fish served right in front of me with healthy vegetables and sauce.

Oh, the drinks were great too! Naturally fresh and tasty!
