Star Village in OUG

Dedicating this blog to Keng Ping in conjunction of her birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, KENG PING!!!

This round, we had it in Star Village in OUG. It’s not very difficult to find this place. It’s the last/first unit along Jalan Hujan Rahmat 3 (the row behind Steven’s Corner). They serve good western food. The environment there was quite ok. I liked it because we were placed in a corner which was very suitable for our whole group chit chatting and laughing at ourselves. Hahaha!

THe meal that I had was really good. I had the Chicken Combo Set which comes with a very big prawn and a cup of ice lemon tea. Price was only RM29.90. Not expensive for this dish. There were also various kind of western dishes akin the Black Pepper Sauce Chicken Chop, Special Chicken Chop, Thai Style Mango Chicken and french fries. The price was rather reasonable.

Before our food were served, the waiter brought us a basket of table game for us to play. It’s really challenging to put together and separate back two specially shaped steels. Don’t believe me?! Come try it yourself…

Here, we have updated each other about our latest situation; job, life, plan, and trips. I really love the story by Mei Leng and Chi Hong about their trip in Taiwan and their stay in hotels there.

Shogun : Japanese Buffet

Yesterday, Mein wanted to have sushi. Thinking for awhile, it has been quite sometime we have not eat sushi already. The name SHOGUN just passed through my mind. Quickly made a call to the restaurant but the person who picked up the call told that no more resesrvation allowed. Only walk in. Fine. Quickly drove to 1 Utama.

Had our buffet dinner there with unlimited sushi and other Japanese cuisine – tempura, teppanyaki, sashimi and others. Everyone gets a baked oyster with cheese each. Overall, the food there was not so up to the price. I mean, the price is reasonable for a place like SHOGUN but it’s just the food there was not up to the standard. The food was just so-so only. Not really that great. But it’s worth a try.

The price was RM55.00 ++ per person. It’s not that expensive but not worth it for quality of food served. Well, in a nutshell, I love the environment but not the food.

Delicious-ly Tasted!

Having an outing with my colleagues in Delicious @ Marc Residence was definitely one of the best experience I had. I felt welcomed once I reached the front door of the restaurant and the environment is very cozy and comfortable. The service there was also up to the standard but of course, as a customer, I always expect more that can be done, akin complimentary desserts, discount vouchers and etc etc. It was a good dinner for all of us that we all enjoyed ourselves there. The combination of colour contrast of the furniture, interior deco and the seating arrangement were cleverly handled. (But one question : what are the bird cages doing in the restaurant? )

I had Roasted Duck Red Curry with Lychee and a glass of chocolate shake. Simply Marvellous! The duck curry was so milky and was served with their specially cooked rice and a small portion of pomelo salad. The food there was basically affordable for a place like this. Overall, the food there, as suggested by the name itself was DELICIOUS.

You may want to try their English Fish & Chips, Pan-Seared Crispy Skin Salmon, Marsala Lambshank, Spicy Seafood Spaghettini, Thai Seafood Spaghettini, Pan-Seared Cod and Smoked Salmon Quiche. The pasta dishes come in big portion. If you are a “not-so-big-eater”, you may want to share the plate with your partner.

As for drink, the do have a few which are worth mentioning as they do put in their effort and innovation in having one-of-a-kind drink akin the Watermelon Lychee Blast, Mango, Lychee and Kaffir, Bananacoco Smoothies and etc etc. They also serve some more down-to-earth drinks like the chocolate shake, iced chocolate, English tea and beer. By the way, they do serve wine as well.
I am definitely going to this place again. I may be overly-rated this restaurant but not-so-bad if you compliment somebody once a while when they actually deserve it, right?! Wink

My Personal

What’s going on?

Have not been updating the blog for quite some time. Well, actually there are a lot to share. It’s just that I do not have the time. Let me briefly update what have happened in my life since last update…

1) Bought a house in Bukit Jalil @ Kinrara Mas. The loan agreement has yet to be settled. The lawyer is just delaying the whole process. Hopefully can settle before 1 Feb – the date the developer is billing me. If not, I’ll have to write a letter to waive for whatever penalty charges that the bank is going to charge later. I just hate the lawyer for being to slow. It’s the appointed lawyer by the developer. It’s so unfair! But anyhow, the house will be ready in end of 2009. Let’s cross our fingers.

2) Got my first published article in a magazine – Plan Your Own Holiday magazine issue Jan/Feb 2008. It’s about my trip to Taiping. I went to Taiping with Mein on her birthday. It’s a surprise trip for her where she is not being told where we were going when we started our journey. Until have way, I told her that we were going to Taiping. She was so happy and surprised. On her birthday itself (after staying a night in Taiping), another surprise was that I fetched her back to Penang without letting her know in advance. Her parents were shocked and surprised as well! We had dinner at Tao Cuisine – steamboat.

3) Mein flew to China for a week starting from 24 – 31 Dec 07. My worst Christmas ever. No celebration and no loved one being with… Sad She was sent by her company to lead a tour.

4) My workload has been added and taking over some reporting jobs from my Assistant Operation Manager. But I do not see any increment just yet. Crossing fingers again.

Roughly, these are all that have been happening lately…
