Ready 2 Eat… (dedicated to Su Kian)

Su Kian is now managing a restaurant with her cousin sister in Cheras. A small-sized girl coming from a small place in Pahang with a big ambition and resistance. She can develop fast and learn fast coping with the ever-changing environment in a big city like KL. Syabas!

Ready 2 Eat is the name of the restaurant and it’s located in Taman Putra. Eye catching billboard with lights blinking around it. It serves French cuisine with fushion.

Going there with my close friends from Uni, Samantha and Jia Ming, we ordered a few chef recommended meals and looking at the menu itself has already tempted us to order more. The price is very reasonable and the food looks good! Even in a picture.

Samantha ordered cola float, well-known for having a scoop of vanilla-flavoured ice-cream on top of a glass of coke. She also had seafood rice. (Do not know what it’s called according to the menu but it sure taste good). She also ordered mashed potato which is specially topped with tomato puree, mushrooms and cheese. This is the most recommended dish from all of us. Good try!

Jia Ming and Mein had chicken chop. The whole presentation of this dish is well-arranged. Chicken, mashed potato, salad, and rice arranged on a long-shaped plate. Good arrangement & easy to maintain.

I ordered a plate of Spaghetti "Fruit De Mers" (aka Seafood Spaghetti). I love this one. But the prawn that was given to me was not fresh. Mentioned to Su Kian about this and she’ll highlight to her boss. Overall, the dish is highly recommended. The mussel was very fresh indeed! Feels so tangy with the sweet and sour taste of the specially cooked tomato sauce topping the spaghetti.

I had a glass of Chilo Oleo which is actually ice-blended Oreo. YES! Oreo biscuits. I warned that it is going to be very sweet but when I sipped a mouthful of the drink, not so sweet… Just nice. Even my girlfriend said so. Very creative to have this kind of special beverage in the restaurant.

A dessert complimented by the chef was the Lemon Soufle. A piece of freshly fried pancake kind of pastry wrapping lemon-flavoured cream and icy cool vanilla flavoured ice-cream on the other side. The hot and cold blend just melts in the mouth in a correct chemistry! Great experience.

Just can’t wait to come back again to try other dishes.

Little Penang… Yum Yum…

Coming from Penang (my girlfriend) but want to eat Penang food in KL… How ironic…

Well, no harm trying KL Penang food… We walked in to Little Penang in The Curve.

Not bad! I love the sambal the first time putting into my mouth already. The curry mee is not bad as well. With a lot of stuff in it – beancurd, clams ("kerang"), vege, prawns, beansprouts. Great taste.

My girlfriend had nasi lemak with sambal fish. The fish is the main attraction of the whole plate of rice. It’s just the sambal which no one can resist! Of course, for those who do not eat spicy food, you can try something else.

And another thing worth mentioning is the Red Ruby. It’s a bowl of coconut milk in ice and topped with red-coloured chestnuts and a few slices of jackfruit ("nangka"). The taste – Just love it! Not too sweet and not too heavy.

The BONUS Question!!!

I’ve been asked for quite a number of times the BONUS question : "When are you getting married?"  Well, I have thought of a few answers for that ONE particular question.

If the one asking is still single : "After you!"

If the one asking is married : "Not so soon. I’m sure you know that getting married needs a lot of money."

If I were an artiste/celebrity : "Jodoh berada di tangan Tuhan. Manusia hanya merancang, Tuhan yang menentukannya. Kalau ada jodoh, kenapa tidak? Kalau sampai masanya, saya akan umumkan. Tunggulah."

What ever it is, getting married is surely a good thing for everyone. So now let’s getting married EVERYONE!!!

A Visit to KL Bird Park

Finally! I went to the KL Bird Park last week. It was a great experience as it was way much better than I have expected. We went there with Chee Fah & Jenny.

The entrance fee for locals is RM12.00 while for foreigners, the charges is RM30.00. No comment on the price difference!

Well, we had lunch at the Hornbill Restaurant there, where they serve local cuisine. The nasi lemak I had was good, especially the sambal sotong. But we dislike the fruit juice though. They add too much water and made it feel tasteless.

Anyhow, we found out that there are a lot of different species of hornbills and parrots. Having an interest in snapping photos, my hand was “attacked” by a hornbill when I was trying to take its photo. Its beaks were too hard and it nearly knocked down my camera. Luckily it did not. But at last, I managed to take its photo and it’s clear and beautiful.

There are various of rare species of birds which we rarely see in the city. Chee Fah made a joke that a crow should be placed in the rare species sanctuary. Haha!

At 3:00PM, we managed to catch the bird show and had fun there. Although the comment was that the show was not fully demonstrated/ performed in English (where it should be since it’s a tourist hot spot), everyone had fun. Who cares about the man when you can actually see the birds… Oopss…!

Anyhow, we got caught in a heavy rain when we were just about the leave the park. In a nutshell, it’s a good experience to all of us!

All about a DVD Player and Carrefour

Went to Carrefour to shop last weekend and saw a DVD Player which was being displayed on one of the shelves. The selling price is RM 89.90 only. Very cheap as it’s multifunction player. Besides playing normal CD, VCD and DVD, it can read USB devices. It’s cheap for something like this.

Being keen to purchase the item, I brought the device to one of the staff there and she asked if there is anymore stock left. Frankly speaking, how would I know if there is anymore stock left? All I know is that I’m interested to buy the DVD player. She referred to her colleagues and found out that they do not have any more stocks left and because of this, they would not be able to sell it to me. I was like, "WHAT?! I’m paying for it and now you say you don’t sell it to me?!"

"If it’s not for sale, why do you put it on the shelf?" I asked.

"IT’S FOR DISPLAY" – what an intelligent answer.

Fine! I put back the player to its original place. And I saw another male staff walking by. I asked him again if they still have stock in the store room for sale. He said its all sold out and the one on the shelf is not for sale.

"Then why do you put it there?"

"IT’S FOR DISPLAY" – he answered the same way the lady gave me earlier on.

"Haha… lawaknya!" (literally translated – "Haha… what a joke!")

"CARREFOUR MEMANG SELALU BUAT LAWAK ANTARABANGSA" – He replied.
(badly translated – "CARREFOUR ALWAYS MAKE INTERNATIONAL STANDARD JOKES")

I was dumb-found and I do not want to make a noise anymore.
