Chicken Parts in KFC

chickenrice   KFC_pertama

I have been craving to try out the KFC Chicken Rice and finally I’ve got a chance to do it. I had it in KFC Pertama Complex and everytime I eat KFC, I will only take the drumstick and the thigh. Some times the chicken wing but no other parts please.

In this specific occassion, there’s no exceptional. The KFC lady gave me a chicken wing and a breast. I asked her to change them for me.

I said, “I want a drumstick and a ‘paha’ ” (which mean thigh in Malay language).

She was felt stranged and she swapped the chicken wing for me to a drumstick and left the chicken breast on the plate.

I then told her, “I want the part which is on top of the drumstick”

She then said, “Oh, thigh!”  and laughed at me with her colleague that I said it wrongly that I want a paha but not a thigh.

They said, “Paha tu drumstick lah!”

Well, I was angry as they were treating me as if I’m stupid but I kept quiet.

To them, paha means drumstick but to me paha means thigh.

I wanted to give them a Malay-English lesson there on-the-spot but NO-lah.

Leave the dumb as who they are. Ignorance is stupidity.

Layered Cakes from Sarawak

My friend, Zilah, just came back from Kuching two weeks ago and  brought back a special and unic souvenir for all of us in the office – LAYERED CAKES. Yum! Yum! We know these cakes are expensive here in KL as they are very difficult to make and time consuming and people are selling the cakes as of selling their precious time. We got to know from my friend that the factory or we call it the manufacturer actually takes order from KL and do delivery via PosLaju to us directly.

What more? We all started to place order as they are really delicious and looking at the brochure, they do provide a very wide variety of choices. I selected the “Cheese Ice Cream”, “Lapis Coklat Cheese” and “Lapis Coklat Madu Belang”. I have tasted the “Lapis Rempah” and “Lapis Masam-Manis” brought back by my friend. My personal favourite – “Lapis Masam-Manis”… simply irresistable!

One day later, the cakes arrived in a box and ta-da! My cakes are ready to be served.

After surveying around, the cakes may easily cost more than RM20.00 each but I have got them much cheaper! Cost-saving when you deal with the manufacturer direct! Only RM17.00 each. (RM10.00 for the cake and RM7.00 for the delivery charges) Reasonable what?!

They also have a lot more choices like “Lapis India”, “Lapis Blueberry”, “Sutera Ungu”, “Lapis 3 Rasa”, “Lapis Alunan Ombak” and many more. The price may vary from each type of cakes but we find it cheaper to request for delivery direct from the manufacturer. The most outstanding for me are the “Lapis Cindai” (named after Siti Nurhaliza’s evergreen song) and “Lapis Puncak Kasih” (named after Ziana Zain’s famous song). We had good laughs in the office acting out the way of the singers’ singing styles, imagining if that would ever happen to someone after eating the cakes. Hahaha!

Star Village in OUG

Dedicating this blog to Keng Ping in conjunction of her birthday – HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, KENG PING!!!

This round, we had it in Star Village in OUG. It’s not very difficult to find this place. It’s the last/first unit along Jalan Hujan Rahmat 3 (the row behind Steven’s Corner). They serve good western food. The environment there was quite ok. I liked it because we were placed in a corner which was very suitable for our whole group chit chatting and laughing at ourselves. Hahaha!

THe meal that I had was really good. I had the Chicken Combo Set which comes with a very big prawn and a cup of ice lemon tea. Price was only RM29.90. Not expensive for this dish. There were also various kind of western dishes akin the Black Pepper Sauce Chicken Chop, Special Chicken Chop, Thai Style Mango Chicken and french fries. The price was rather reasonable.

Before our food were served, the waiter brought us a basket of table game for us to play. It’s really challenging to put together and separate back two specially shaped steels. Don’t believe me?! Come try it yourself…

Here, we have updated each other about our latest situation; job, life, plan, and trips. I really love the story by Mei Leng and Chi Hong about their trip in Taiwan and their stay in hotels there.

Shogun : Japanese Buffet

Yesterday, Mein wanted to have sushi. Thinking for awhile, it has been quite sometime we have not eat sushi already. The name SHOGUN just passed through my mind. Quickly made a call to the restaurant but the person who picked up the call told that no more resesrvation allowed. Only walk in. Fine. Quickly drove to 1 Utama.

Had our buffet dinner there with unlimited sushi and other Japanese cuisine – tempura, teppanyaki, sashimi and others. Everyone gets a baked oyster with cheese each. Overall, the food there was not so up to the price. I mean, the price is reasonable for a place like SHOGUN but it’s just the food there was not up to the standard. The food was just so-so only. Not really that great. But it’s worth a try.

The price was RM55.00 ++ per person. It’s not that expensive but not worth it for quality of food served. Well, in a nutshell, I love the environment but not the food.

Delicious-ly Tasted!

Having an outing with my colleagues in Delicious @ Marc Residence was definitely one of the best experience I had. I felt welcomed once I reached the front door of the restaurant and the environment is very cozy and comfortable. The service there was also up to the standard but of course, as a customer, I always expect more that can be done, akin complimentary desserts, discount vouchers and etc etc. It was a good dinner for all of us that we all enjoyed ourselves there. The combination of colour contrast of the furniture, interior deco and the seating arrangement were cleverly handled. (But one question : what are the bird cages doing in the restaurant? )

I had Roasted Duck Red Curry with Lychee and a glass of chocolate shake. Simply Marvellous! The duck curry was so milky and was served with their specially cooked rice and a small portion of pomelo salad. The food there was basically affordable for a place like this. Overall, the food there, as suggested by the name itself was DELICIOUS.

You may want to try their English Fish & Chips, Pan-Seared Crispy Skin Salmon, Marsala Lambshank, Spicy Seafood Spaghettini, Thai Seafood Spaghettini, Pan-Seared Cod and Smoked Salmon Quiche. The pasta dishes come in big portion. If you are a “not-so-big-eater”, you may want to share the plate with your partner.

As for drink, the do have a few which are worth mentioning as they do put in their effort and innovation in having one-of-a-kind drink akin the Watermelon Lychee Blast, Mango, Lychee and Kaffir, Bananacoco Smoothies and etc etc. They also serve some more down-to-earth drinks like the chocolate shake, iced chocolate, English tea and beer. By the way, they do serve wine as well.
I am definitely going to this place again. I may be overly-rated this restaurant but not-so-bad if you compliment somebody once a while when they actually deserve it, right?! Wink
